AP European History Preview Course June
Service Description
Our AP European History Preview Course is designed for students who are preparing for the AP European History exam. This course consists of 15 sessions, each 120 minutes long, covering approximately one-third to one-half of the AP European History exam content. It provides students with a strong foundation in key historical events, movements, and figures in European history before the school year begins, giving them an early advantage and helping them prepare for the AP exam. Course Content: Unit 1: The Renaissance and Reformation Students will explore the cultural, political, and intellectual developments during the Renaissance, as well as the causes and impacts of the Protestant Reformation. Key topics include humanism, Renaissance art, Martin Luther, and the Catholic Counter-Reformation. Unit 2: Absolutism and Constitutionalism Study the rise of absolute monarchies in Europe, including the reigns of Louis XIV, Peter the Great, and Frederick the Great, and examine the development of constitutionalism in England. Topics include the English Civil War, the Glorious Revolution, and the development of parliamentary democracy. Unit 3: The Enlightenment and Revolutionary Movements Focus on the intellectual movement of the Enlightenment and its influence on European political and social thought. This unit also covers the French Revolution, the rise of Napoleon, and the impact of revolutionary ideas on Europe. Unit 4: Industrialization and Political Change Learn about the Industrial Revolution and its profound impact on European society, economy, and politics. Topics include urbanization, the rise of socialism, and political movements like liberalism, nationalism, and the struggles for workers' rights. Unit 5: The World Wars and Interwar Period This unit covers the causes, events, and outcomes of World War I and World War II, as well as the interwar period, including the rise of fascism, communism, and the Great Depression. Key figures like Hitler, Stalin, and Mussolini will be examined, along with the effects of the wars on Europe. Course Highlights: Focused Coverage: This course covers one-third to one-half of the AP European History content, ensuring that students gain a strong understanding of the most important events and themes in European history. Ahead of the Curve: Students will be well-prepared before the school year begins, giving them a solid foundation in European history and a head start in their studies.
