AP Chemistry Preview Course August
Service Description
AP Chemistry Preview Course Introduction Our AP Chemistry Preview Course is specially designed for students preparing to take the AP Chemistry exam. The course consists of 15 sessions, each 120 minutes long, covering approximately one-third to one-half of the AP Chemistry exam content. This course aims to help students develop a solid understanding of key concepts and knowledge before the school year begins, giving them a head start and a strong foundation for the upcoming curriculum. Course Content: Unit 1: Atomic Structure and Properties Students will learn about atomic models, electron configuration, atomic theory, and periodic trends, understanding how elements are arranged in the periodic table and their physical and chemical properties. Unit 2: Structure and Properties of Molecules and Ionic Compounds This unit focuses on the formation and properties of chemical bonds, delving into the structures and behaviors of molecules and ionic compounds in chemical reactions. Unit 3: Intermolecular Forces and Properties Students will explore various intermolecular forces (such as hydrogen bonds, van der Waals forces, etc.) and how these forces influence the physical properties of substances, such as boiling points, melting points, and solubility. Unit 4: Chemical Reactions and Stoichiometry In this unit, students will focus on understanding different types of chemical reactions, balancing equations, and mastering stoichiometry for calculating the quantities of reactants and products in a reaction. Unit 5: Thermochemistry and Thermodynamics This unit will cover the principles of heat transfer, enthalpy, and Gibbs free energy, helping students understand how energy changes during chemical reactions and the role of thermodynamics in predicting reaction spontaneity. Course Highlights: Comprehensive Coverage: With 15 sessions, this course covers more than one-third to one-half of the AP Chemistry content, ensuring students have a thorough understanding of the most important concepts. Preemptive Learning: Students will gain a strong grasp of key concepts ahead of time, helping them stay ahead of the curve for the school year and AP exam. Expert Instruction: The course is led by experienced instructors who will provide in-depth explanations and guidance to ensure students are fully prepared.
