AP Biology Preview Course July
Service Description
AP Biology Preview Course Introduction Our AP Biology Preview Course is designed specifically for students preparing for the AP Biology exam. The course consists of 15 sessions, each 120 minutes long, covering approximately one-third to one-half of the AP Biology exam content. This course aims to help students develop a solid understanding of essential biological concepts before the school year begins, giving them a head start and ensuring they are well-prepared for the challenges of the AP exam. Course Content: Unit 1: Cell Structure and Function Students will explore the structure and function of cells, including the various organelles, cellular processes like osmosis, diffusion, and cell signaling, and the role of the cell membrane in maintaining homeostasis. Unit 2: Genetics and Heredity This unit covers the basics of genetics, including Mendelian inheritance, DNA structure and replication, gene expression, and the mechanisms behind genetic variation and mutations. Students will also learn about modern genetic technologies and applications. Unit 3: Evolution and Natural Selection Students will delve into the principles of evolution, including the evidence supporting evolution, the mechanisms of natural selection, genetic drift, and speciation. The unit will also explore how populations evolve and adapt over time. Unit 4: Energy Transfer and Metabolism This unit will focus on the biochemical pathways of life, such as cellular respiration and photosynthesis, and how organisms convert energy. Students will learn about enzyme function, energy flow in ecosystems, and the relationship between structure and function in metabolic processes. Unit 5: Ecology and Organismal Biology Students will explore ecosystems, energy flow, and the interactions between organisms and their environment. The unit will also cover topics such as population dynamics, community interactions, and the impact of human activities on ecosystems. Course Highlights: Comprehensive Coverage: With 15 sessions, this course thoroughly covers the key AP Biology topics, ensuring students gain a deep understanding of fundamental biological concepts. Early Preparation: Students will be well-prepared before the school year begins, giving them a head start in their studies and confidence going into the AP exam. Expert Instruction: Led by experienced instructors, the course provides detailed explanations and guidance, helping students master challenging biological concepts with ease.
